23. RADAR1 & RADAR2
This software contains two programs which resolve anticollision kinematics
problems. This program was created for captain and officers uses; in fact
graph anticollision is obliged as per London Convention and also for IMO
(International Maritime Organization) regulations.

Anticollision graph is to be exhibited to the local harbour Master in
all cases in which it is required when is to be proved that kinematics
calculation were carried out during the previous sea passage of the vessel.
In all cases of intense traffic or foggy weather this program is very
helpful because in few seconds you can have 6 results; four of these are
to change the course of the vessel and the other two to change only the
speed whilst the ship's couse remain unchanged.
Among all dangerous targets observed to the radar monitor you to choose
targets TRA TANTI BERSAGLI PERICOLOSI RILEVATI AL RADAR, SI DOVRA' SCEGLIERE
QUELLO PIU' close to our vessel no more than 7 miles; plotting is to be
effected with two running bearing (1 minute about ) and estabilishing
the distance we need that other vessel is crossing our vessel. To effect
this type of calculation, normally you need 15 minutes and if the observed
target changes the course you have to repeat all calculations carried
out before. In the mean time the Master remains without any help from
the officer in charge and decides to manoeuvre the vessel without any
calculation; Master in this case is helped only by using his experience.
Masters on board of Vessels provided with A.R.P.A.Radar use the system
to plot targets direct in the Radar monitor with a coloured pencil; this
methods is very dangerous because some target can remain hidden near the
center of our monitor. These are the reasons in which London Convention
obliges ship's Master to graph dangerous targets in allready prepared
forms issued by " DEFENCE MAPPING AGENCY HIDROGRAPHIC/TOPOGRAPHIC CENTER"
OF WASHINGTON.
The anticollision graph obtained from our software can printed out in black
and white or color.
"Safety first" is written up in the bridge in all vessels
but it is also our "slogan".
