21. BENZOL & TOLUOL

It is well known that conversion tables for chemical products are very different from ASTM tables used for Crude Oils, Diesel Oils or Lubricating Oils.

In many cases the Ship's Owner or the Charterers provide the ship's Master conversion tables for all chemical products in which the vessel normal is scheduled to load at loadports. In some case the vessel has to load a new product or a mixed product and it is impossible for the ship's Master to have on board the conmversion table for this product. This program satisfy this problem and the Chief Officer can calculate the corresponding volume at 15° Celsius and then the weight quantity in metric tons.

The density at 15° Celsiu in vacuum is given by the shippers into Quality Certificate whilst the cargo temperature is obtained with a direct reading in all cargo tanks. This method is very quickly because it uses the same methos of ASTM tables.

You can obtain the Ullage report by using tank by tank system or the weighted temperature and volumes system. This program, together with programs included in the softwares from n. 26 to 36 calculates all products that normally chemical tankers are frequently to load.
