4. WATER IN CARGO LOADED OR DISCHARGED

The water percentage in the cargo loaded, is normally declared by the shippers in the "QUALITY CERTIFICATE"; original copy of it is given to the ship's Master. When the ship arrive in the discharging port, the water remains separated in two different parts; one quantity passes through the cargo and goes to the bottom of cargo tank (FREE WATER)and the other quantity remains in suspension with the cargo. The percentage of water in suspension plus the percentage of water in the bottom of cargo tank will turn out the percentage as per quality certificate. The water percentage, over that certified in the quality certificate will be considered water NOT part of the cargo and therefore she will be substracted from the computed gross cargo quantity on board. The resulted quantity is to be compared with the quantity certified in the BILL OF LADING.

The quantity of 24992.281 metr.tons is to be compared to the quantity certified in the BILL OF LADING; instead, the quantity 25012.589 tonn. Will be considered for the final calculation of R.O.B. (Remained ON BOARD)on completion of the discharge. In this case, the vessel delivered to thre receivers the quantity of 24967.59, considering the Vessel Experience Factor.
