2. STATIC AND DYNAMIC SHIP'S STABILITY

Stability calculation has been predisposed for a vessel having 25 compartments including vessel's weight (light ship weight) as a compartment; this calculation is only a demonstration, but you can input data till to 54 compartments; therefore, if you need to preview the predisposed calculation, when the program ask you the number of the ship's compartment you have to input (25) i.e. 25 compartment. During input data effected by yourself you can see in the right side of the monitor, the procedure of inputting data i.e. of all horizontal and vertical distances of weight loaded into a compartment; after this, all weight loaded including inertia moment and data from hydrostatic tables, certainly available on board inside the "Instruction to the Master regarding ship's Stability".

Very close to the end of the program is requested the one side emersed vessel's area in square metres. This is an approximate calculation in which you have to measure the height of emersed area considering also the bridge deck, the funnel etc. (See Example below.)

In this example, the one side vessel emersed area (considering the funnel, the bridge and eventual containers on deck, is represented by the black rectangle; therefore, the emersed area resulted to be 10 metres X 100 metres (Lenght Between Perpend.); i.e. 1000 square metres. This value you have imput when the program requires the one side emersed ship's area.
